An Analytical Study of the Major Themes in Meeraji’s Poetry
Meeraji is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Urdu poetry, whose works introduced new dimensions of thought, symbolism, and psychological expression. This study examines the major themes in Meeraji’s poetry, focusing on love, human psychology, loneliness, existential concerns, spirituality, sexuality, and social realities. Using a qualitative textual approach, the paper analyzes how Meeraji combines symbolic language and philosophical reflection to explore the complexities of human emotions and modern life. The study concludes that the thematic richness of Meeraji’s poetry has made a significant contribution to the evolution of modern Urdu literature and continues to influence contemporary literary criticism.
