Assessment of PR Tools used During Bihar Assembly Election with Special Reference to Political Situation Arising Due to Special intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar
This study critically examines the application and effectiveness of Public Relations (PR) tools during the Bihar Assembly Elections, focusing particularly on the political situation generated by the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The SIR process, while intended to improve electoral integrity, became a political flashpoint, drawing criticism from several stakeholders. The proposed study will investigate the role and effectiveness of PR tools employed by the Election Commission in navigating this sensitive political landscape. Proposed study will collect primary data from the ground through structured questions by interviewing the officials as well as data collectors on behalf of Election Commission. Present study sheds light on the intersection between administrative processes (like SIR) and political communication in influencing electoral outcomes. The research aims to underscore that in the context of volatile political environments, such as Bihar during the SIR period, the effective use of PR tools is not just about promotion, but about narrative control, perception management, and crisis communication. The findings will aid political strategists, communication professionals, and election bodies in refining their outreach and crisis mitigation strategies in future elections.
